My name’s Eric Larson and I own Northwest Private Lending. When Patricia came into the story, this is a family who has poured their blood, sweat, and tears into a home. They, by all rights have created 130, $150,000 in equity and they were losing it and it just seemed wrong.

Hi, my name is Patricia. I’m not an investor. I’m not, a real estate person. I’m actually a licensed massage therapist. I had a very successful clinic and I had to close it. And by the impact of closing my business, we became homeless, very hopeless in every single possible way. We were able to work really hard and get into a manufactured home. We did fix it. And, were able to use that for a down payment for our house that we had. This home was on a contract, a lease option to buy, which was three years. And then when it came time for me to fulfill the contract and buy the home, I wasn’t able to get a loan. It just, it just wasn’t possible.

When Northwest Private Lending heard about what was going on with us, they were able to come in within two weeks and they were able to close on it and they were able to help us being able to take possession in the home. By getting funding, even though I knew we weren’t going to be able to stay in the house and that it would have to turn into an investment home, we didn’t walk away with nothing. We walked away with a future, and now we can even invest more, you know, to be able to have the hope and know that you can have a future with that.

It’s life-changing. By them losing the house. They were going to walk away with nothing. If they were to move out, turn this into an investment property, sell the property. They could capture all the money and the investment they had put into the home. And that just seemed like the right thing to do. They were amazing to work with. They did what we asked. We did what we said, and they were able to sell their home and now pay off all their debts, take that money, buy another house that they can live in. And they’ve gone from being homeless, to being real estate investors, whether they realize it or not.

A lot of people want handouts. And the thing that I really appreciate about Patricia, her family is, they just needed a tiny push, a tiny push at the right time that just radically changed their family’s life and so I’m just really thankful that we were able to play a small part in that.
